I ordered some shirts and 101 last week so I'm looking forward to it as well. I don't know about you guys but my back is unbelievably sore today.

Brent,

Lower back and glutes...felling it as well. Not terrible, but definitely there.

I'm with Brent and Chris on the sore back and glutes. I feel like I have been hit by a truck.

I hope to do some serious stretching and rolling tonight.

The 101 DVD was very well done, lots of good info. Looking forward to the 201.
And yes, I had a hard time putting my socks on standing up this morning. I had to sit on the floor.

Team, for anyone that has a Yukon GHD, I called them today and they are shipping me a reinforced section of the frame free of charge. If you own one without that reinforcement, you may want to call them now before it breaks. Thank you Josh for the suggestion here. I'll be back in business later this week!

First of all, Let me say that I love this blog and lifestyle that you have devoted your time to. I have worked my way back and forth between crossfit, crossfit football and my own mixtures of exercises for the past year and a half, looking for something more specific to follow like this. I have been doing the WoD for 2 weeks now, and am loving the specific details concerning timing, and concentric / eccentric movements. It is another excellent step in my fitness education.

I have also always loved Will Smith as an actor and a person, his love for life is infectious and inspiring and I appreciate that video, I have shared it with my friends and family. It is fun to meet people with the same devotion and passion that you share.

I have two general questions, as today is a Rest Day I thought it would be an appropriate time to ask. I have heard back and forth that taking in dextrose Post-W/O in moderation is good, (60-70g for bulking / bodybuilding). I have followed your Post-W/O meals strictly, and have a Banana, Whey Protein, BCAA's and a 50 cent piece size of Honey (To get some Dextrose). Is this strictly a bodybuilding thing, or is it good health and apply here? My goals are for general health and I don't want to spike my insulin post workout if that is unhealthy.

Also - I use alternating grip on my deadlifts, and my workout partner told me that it can lead to a tear in your deltoids, or uneven posture (one side of your back / shoulders being lower and one side being stronger). Should I break this habit?

Jeff B, for post wo sugars and the amount for health purposes the jury is still out as far as i'm concerned..I have not seen gains in lean mass (which can over time increase your immune function, etc..) without higher carbs post wo for most folks...but when health is the only thing that matters for folks, higher carbs post wo is not that impt...but there is a line that is drawn b/t health and elite fitness..i'm trying to find a balance...ask again in 1 year...i might have an answer for you...
thx for your interest
as for the grip on the dead lift, same thing will smith says about skill, if you're DL'ing yo get healthier, change your grip as needed...if you want to master the movement, changing it all the time by my standards will NOT lead to as high improvements...

Thanks for the quick reply, that post-w/o sugar is a tough thing to get an answer on! I will probably up my carb intake a bit then post-w/o. I think my concept of general health is mis-interpreted. By that I mean currently I am not training for any competitions (except with myself of course) or triathlons. I would like to try to get into a sectional for the Crossfit games, but cannot afford the prices at my local affiliate and the rules for non-affiliate members are unclear on their website. My drive and motivation is the highest it has been and I see elite fitness and my general health in the same eye. Elite fitness it the only option for me, so pushing myself toward perfection in each facet of nutrition, form, intensity, etc. is how I view my general health. I will stick with my alternating grip then, as it allows me to have better grip, and thus more weight and better form throughout the movement. Thanks again. Jeff B.

Great video!

I'm very sore as well - every muscle in my butt - must be from those single leg dumbell squats.

I couldn't agree more, back is a bit tired of holding my sorry body up today!
Knee is destroyed - need to back off deadlift for a while!
OPT: I was wondering what you recommend for post WOD fuel in terms of fat?
I normally flush down a fair bit of coconut milk with P-powder as soon as I can stand up again. then 30 min later, i have sardines - or any other meats!

Lots of information on the Pearls. A shame i can't attend the CCP- live in AUS.

Rest day - needed it!

Great video, like it a lot and like that people like it to.
Spirituality is a domain that a lot of fitness people forget about but for me, its a third of the winning combination.
