TESTING:


Phase 1
As many rounds and reps as possible in 4 Minutes of:
325/265 lb. Deadlift x 4 reps
Muscle-Up x (males-4 reps; females-2 reps)

Rest exactly 8 minutes, and then:

Phase 2
As many rounds and reps as possible in 6 minutes of:
185/135 lb. Squat Clean x 6 reps
Handstand Push-Ups x (males-12 reps; females-6 reps)

Rest exactly 6 minutes, and then:

Phase 3
As many rounds and reps as possible in 8 minutes of:
Row 500 Meters
10 Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups
10 Burpees
(Athletes will receive 1 point for every 100 meters rowed.)

The athletes’ scores for each phase will be the total number of repetitions completed.  Their scores from Phases 1, 2 and 3 will be added together to create their final challenge score.  The athlete with the highest total score will be the winner.

    It's been a while but am happy to tackle an OPT special challenge. Hope a bunch of you rabid dawgs kill it!

    Phase 2: 3 rounds + 5 SC (HSPU Destroyed me and the SC were harder than I thought they would be)

    Phase 3: 2 rounds + 287m (that was just ugly!)

    Total = 35+59+52=146

    I am very pleased with my Dl's today first time doing 185 in a wod and it didn't feel as bad as I though. My goal was always to be able to do 185 in a wod lol, and I kept awesome form not letting my butt shoot up first! I really underestimated those squat cleans though! I am such a hamstring domiant squatter and I had good speed under the bar, but I was like a 90 year old getting off the toilet coming out of the hole! Still need serious work on those! The row killed me I so was not breathing, but C2B wasn't all that bad today actually. Good day though, three tough wods!

    phase 2 went a lot better than i planned, b/c the other day i only got 135 up 3 times.
    and phase 3, i did 5 CTB better than i thought.

  36. Wow, I obviously need more sleep. Please disregard the Phase 3 scores for Team Invictus above.

    Sadly, I made my guys suffer through a 12 minute version of Phase 3. My original draft of this workout had Phase 3 as a 12 minute AMRAP. I changed it to 8 later, but went from memory this morning when briefing my athletes. Their scores looked oddly high for the Phase 3 . . . that's why. My fault.

    Team Invictus, I apologize for asking you to suffer for 4 minutes longer than everyone else.

    Big Dawgs, I apologize for throwing off our scoring.

    Lesson learned, slow down a bit and double-check the workout before I launch folks into it.

  86. Some great scores out there! Going to try to make this up tomorrow or Tuesday...too sore to move today after the great lakes invitational. 4 events then a 5th final event for the top 20 finishers.

    Wod 1 - 6 min amrap:
    8 185lb deadlift
    8 24 inch jump OVER the box(hard!)
    6 rounds + 8 + 4 (40th place)

    Rest 1 minute

    Wod 2 - 2 min amrap 135# thrusters
    14 (14th place)

    1.5 hrs later

    Wod 3 - 10 to 1 ladder of:
    95# ohs
    Hand release burpees
    8:36 (19th place)

    1.5hrs later

    Wod 4 - 3 rounds for time
    20 115# back squat from ground
    20 toes to bar
    20 double unders
    6:36 (5th place)

    Finished 17th so got into the final which was:

    50 cal row
    30 155# clean and jerk
    40 cal row
    40 pull ups
    30 cal row
    50 1.5 pood kb swings
    (20:02 17th place)

    Happy to go from 40th place and climb back to be in the finals. Had never jumped over a box and dl's and jumps are goats. If I feel up for it going to do some light rowing or flight simulator tom.

  90. Watched a video of WOD 2 and have to make a correction! Only 6 SC + 4 HSPU! Not 5, so total of 71. :( there were so many failed attempts in there that I miscounted.

    Also noticed that I shake my head a lot at myself during WODs. I'm stopping that too. No more negativeness during WODs.

    The rings at CF Redpoint where we hit it are on 18 ft heavy chains; they are REALLY hard on the stabilizers. AJ is a mu ninja and got on and almost missed his first 2 warming up. Working on these does make rings at other gyms feel much easier though.

  119. Couldn't do competition wod until today as I was moving my friends yesterday and was whipped by the end.

    Phase 1: 2 rounds = 16 points
    Phase 2: 2+ 1 Clean = 37 points
    Phase 3: 2+ 350m row = 33 points

    Total = 86 points

    Used MU's on the bar and subbed 15 regular pullups instead of CTB as I was hitting my head on ceiling. Had no back strength for cleans, super hard. Happy with DL's as 150kg has always stood as somewhat of a barrier 1RM. Feel confident now to push past that on next 1RM attempt
