  2. 5:15 unanchored sit-ups.

Really wanted to be sub 5min, but a couple of trips during my first round of DU's and a few breaks during the sit-ups just didn't allow it to happen today.

    Maybe next time.

If you are having trouble with DUs, don't sub or switch WODs. This is a perfect time to practise what you are weak at. This is how you improve.

Sean G: I agree with rwcorson do the workout and get better at the skill.

  9. ok...talk to Mike at work and did as followed...

practiced double unders(did max reps in 5 continous minutes)

then did the WOD as follows...

    18 inch box jump
unanchored sit-ups (got all reps but super slow)

    9:56

feel pretty good about it, need some work on the speed of movement for the sit-ups

  11. 5:14 I felt okay, but just didn't have the zip to beat my PR of 4:55.
Missed 1 Du in rds of 50 & 40, anchored sit ups, strait thru. Under 4:50 is my next goal.

  12. 5:31, PB is 5:23. Anchored the feet today, those felt better but missed a good 4-5 times on the doubles so that sunk me. D'oh. Jumped the 60" box a few times after for the first time so that was cool.

  14. 6:54... 2 seconds slower than Oct 6, but I know that the situp standards were raised today. I used to just touch the dumbells with finger tips, but this time I made sure to slap the opposite side of the dumbell on each rep.

40, 20 and 10 were unbroken for doubles.

Now I just gotta get faster at those situps. Although I can't imagine cutting 1:40 off my time.... you guys must look like hummingbirds.

  18. Brent - I saw a video on crossfit or crossfit journal a while ago that had Rip going through the set up. I'll have a look and if I find it I post where I found it.

  21. BSO,
I'm curious, what do you think is. different about the sit up standard today? I thought this is the standard.

  22. Time: 7:25 (unanchored) *PR*

    Last PR: 8:20 (anchored 12/10/08)
    First PR: 20:37 (6/10/06)

Double unders are getting much better. With Anchored situps, I think I could have beat 7 minutes.

    Thanks Gord.

  23. Brent-

I found it- on the crossfit main site go under demo's, look under powerlifts, there are a couple good ones, but the one I think is best is the deadlift set by Rip

  24. Rob,

I raised my personal standard on the situps. Touched the "toe side" of the dbs every rep rather than the heels of my shoes... this ensured that I came up to perpendicular every rep.
