Thanks to Ben for introducing me to the BSc Gear. He mentioned I should try them out. I did the research, looked promising (those Aussies know a lot in terms of performance; and if those tough mother@#$%ing footballers are wearing it, I'm in) So its been a few months and I am recovering better. I take intricate detail of recovery - numbers and diagnostics, and all is better, better than the previous 3 years; that makes me happy. The main thing I noticed was the help in systemic inflammation from previous high CNS demanding training sessions; I seem to handle it better now. So thank you Ben and here is an embarassing "thx mate" back at ya for your work.
Still very happy with my successful triple unders on saturday! :)
ReplyDeleteYesterday I switched order on part 1 and 2 (early may) to be able to get the prescribed rest (+6 hours), so first part 2 then 1. I could´ve done them in the correct order but then I wouldn´t have time to rest more than maybe 1 hour.
Was the switcharoo a good call? Thank you for your thoughts, it would help me understand which priority the rest should have on a training day like that.

My BSc gear is on the way, I think/hope!!
ReplyDeleteJames!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome mate, and look forward to seeing you crush it at the Games.
We have a growing number of CrossFitters all over the US /Canada wearing BSc and with the interlocking weaving (competitors use interwoven)of our fabric the compression lasts for many more washes and helps in performance and recovery.
Highly advised training/playing and recovering and sleeping in it enables better recovery also...although the missus ain't happy about that.
Don't hesitate to contact me ben@crossfitperformance.com or directly call 203-550-0041
In the mail today Geoff and you should have it within 4-6 days!
ReplyDeleteJust ordered mine!
ReplyDeleteQuick questions to the Dawgs:
ReplyDeleteIf my goal was to gain 5 lbs muscle, would the proper way to do it be to simply increase my total blocks or just up the fat blocks?
PTS-
ReplyDeleteI'd up protein and fat. What's your current RX?
nathan I currently operate at about 20p, 12c, and 60f. this does not include post workout meal.
ReplyDeletePTS
ReplyDeleteI have been taking digestive enzymes since March 21st, to help make sure that I absorb the food that I am eating. I have put on about 3 - 4 pounds with no apparent change in body fat. Granted I am sample of 1, so I don't know if this is normal.
Maybe James, or anyone else who has tried these can comment.
I was on a very similar RX for about a year: 18P-12C-18F@4X I maintained a BW of 185-187.
ReplyDeleteI'd go to 80F and add a protein only snack (2 - 3 blocks) + 3g of glutamine before bed. And keep everything else the same. Do that for a month and see how that works out -- track your progress. Consider supplementing with HCL caps and/or digestive enzymes during your meals.
Good luck! Dialing in the diet is very rewarding, and quite fun if you focus on the little things. :)

While were on the subject of compression, my wife ran across a brand new pair (top/bottom) at goodwill a few weeks ago for $3 bucks. I couldn't believe it. I'm hitting the chiropractor tomorrow in hopes it helps out the back before the big weekend.
ReplyDeleteI ran across this article today and thought some may find it interesting:

Hey James - Don't know if you caught this yet, but talk about incredible core strength!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49cU7gtPIzM&feature=popt00us01
The most amazing part is when a kid is doing a 1-armed split lever and handstand on top of one of the other kids heads, the guy on the bottom (having a 1-armed handstand done on his head) then does a full squat, into the splits, then comes back up to full locked out position.....incredible...
PTS,
ReplyDeleteThe question I would be asking is what are your goals and does gaining 5# of muscle mass help you achieve your goals? If yes, cool. If not, reconsider. Anyway, have goals and a plan to achieve them.
My 2 cents.

BK,
ReplyDeleteSo if I don't wash it will it last forever!?
Gentle hand wash and the compression/tightness of our gear will last a good 12 months guaranteed.

ReplyDeleteI wanted to test this product out, but I'm weary of spending the money right off the bat on something I've never seen. Would you advise I try the socks first? Or are the pants the only way to go???
