Big Dawg playlist

If you could choose an ITunes song to get through "Fran", make a PR on that deadlift or to get ready to compete in the last WOD in the regional qualifiers what would it be and why?

Post it/them...I will take all the comments and create a itunes playlist available for download from itunes... People could then purchase and download this playlist for their ipods...cool?

3 per genre. I've done me some homework on this matter. Try these out OPT!

Hip Hop Genre:

Here I Come - The Roots
Ante Up - M.O.P.
B.O.B. - Ooutkast

Angry/Metal Genre:

War Ensemble - Slayer
Wait and Bleed - Slipknot
Just Another Victim - Helmet w/ House of Pain

Awesome idea, coach.

Push It To The Limit - Paul Engemann

Reminds me to literally "push it to the limit" - which is essentially what's needed during WODs, right? Maybe it should say "push it PAST the limit"!

Other great songs:
What's common among these songs are their good beat + mix of drums and guitar and bass. To me, anyway.

Inside the Fire - Disturbed.
I like this part in the lyrics:
"You will shiver, till you deliver.
You will remember it all.
Let it blow your mind again." Translated to CF language: Keep going hard.
And also: "Devon Lies Beyond This Portal" - replace "Devon" with w/e your goals are... CF is the portal - i.e. pathway to achieve them.

Indestructable - Disturbed.
"Indestructible.
Determination that is incorruptible.
From the other side a terror to behold.
Annihilation will be unavoidable." Pretty much describes my mindset while CF'ing.

I have some more on another comp which I'll write later. This is great.

In order of preference. I decided to leave the really good ones out of my list (i.e. opeth/ dream theater). The guys at OPT will understand.

Eminem - till i collapse
Pretty much self-explanatory. Talks about not being a pussy, and picking your socks up to keep going.

Tool - parabola.
Good shit.

Metallica - broken, beaten, scared.
It metallica, thats good enough reason.

Pantera - Cowboys from hell.
These workouts are the cowboys from hell.

Two of my favorites....both by Three Days Grace
PAIN - Favorite line: "I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all" reminds me that I choose to do CF BECAUSE of the "pain"
&
RIOT - I listened to this song on repeat when getting a PB with "Grace" and numerous times during the qualifiers.

I must be old or old school, I don't know any of the songs listed here except Pain.
My songs in no specific order:
Show me how to live, Audioslave
Even Flow, Pearl Jam
You Shook me All Night Long, AC DC
The vibe of the music is more important than the words. All 3 get me charged up and ready to go.

Wow, hard to narrow down those suckers but RHCP's 'All Around the World' gets me cranked every time and 'Renegades of Funk' from Rage throws me into a frenzy.

That Interpol song is frickin' sweet.

Well, here are some of the most recently played songs on my IPOD. I have a tenancy to stay on the heavier side and the wife on the Lady Gaga/Daughtry/Top 40 side.

Rap/Top 40:
Fort Minor – Remember the Name (Perfect song for a compilation)
Eminem – Till I Colapse
Natasha Bedingfield – Pocketful of Sunshine
Rhianna – Rehab (Got to suggest this one, it’s my rowing sprint song)
Highwayman – Highwayman (Hey… These guys were some tough SOB’s!)

Metal:
Scar Symmetry – Morphogenesis
All that Remains – Two Weeks
In Flames – Delight and Angers

Rock:
Breaking Benjamin - The Diary of Jane
Billy Talent – This Suffering
Disturbed – Inside the fire
Metallica - Fuel

-Brent

Ghostland Observatory - Dancin on my grave
*Love the song

Eminem - Loose Yourself
*Look, if you had, one shot, or one opportunity to seize everything you ever wanted-One moment would you capture it, or just let it slip?

Awesome Idea!

1.In Flames - Cloud Connected
2.Pantera - Cowboys From Hell
3.Jay-Z/Linkin Park - 99 Problems

The first 2 I would use to a 1rm lift or something that needs pumping up for. The Last one has more rhytym and helps pump up, but get into pace.

One song that pushes me every time

Killing in the Name - Rage

and the "let the bodies hit the floor" song is by Drowning Pool..real good one

DeeJay said...

My number one song, guarantee, no one has ever heard.

Murs - "what do you know?"

If I had an intro song it would be "hells bells" by ACDC.

Rage against the machine - "killing in the name" is another no brainer.

I use Metallica Fuel every single time. Something about that driving beat.

Sometimes I use "shipping up to Boston" by Dropkick Murphys as a psych up song.

1. Justice - Waters of Nazereth (Erol Alkan's Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr Re-Edit) [With Pase Rock’s Guest Drop]

My favorite song to get jacked, I purposely didn't play it for the Jackie WOD cause it would've meant a fly n die for sure...
