"experience more than results"
Nate - 12 + 7 KBSI will do Annie later today.
5:15 unanchored sit-ups.Really wanted to be sub 5min, but a couple of trips during my first round of DU's and a few breaks during the sit-ups just didn't allow it to happen today.Maybe next time.
terrible at double unders...i'l practice them prior to the WOD, can I sub in something else for the actual workout?
should I just do this one from crossfit calgaryAs many rounds in 20 minutes:5 clapping push-ups10 Sit-ups15 Squats
Sean GIf you are having trouble with DUs, don't sub or switch WODs. This is a perfect time to practise what you are weak at. This is how you improve.
5:08 (huge PR) previous PR was 6:44 on 12/10.Sean G: I agree with rwcorson do the workout and get better at the skill.
I mean 6:34
Hey guys, is there a video or .pdf of Rip discussing the new deadlift technique discussed yesterday?
Did Nate today. 13 RoundsCatching up because I was in the field.
ok...talk to Mike at work and did as followed...practiced double unders(did max reps in 5 continous minutes)then did the WOD as follows...18 inch box jumpunanchored sit-ups (got all reps but super slow)9:56feel pretty good about it, need some work on the speed of movement for the sit-ups
5:27 PRI kept the same format in old PR of Ab-Mat anchored sit-ups.Sweeny and PTS my hats off to you guys, well done!!
5:14 I felt okay, but just didn't have the zip to beat my PR of 4:55.Missed 1 Du in rds of 50 & 40, anchored sit ups, strait thru. Under 4:50 is my next goal.
5:31, PB is 5:23. Anchored the feet today, those felt better but missed a good 4-5 times on the doubles so that sunk me. D'oh. Jumped the 60" box a few times after for the first time so that was cool.
Oh and I did Nate yesterday but I actually posted it on that day. Wink wink.
6:54... 2 seconds slower than Oct 6, but I know that the situp standards were raised today. I used to just touch the dumbells with finger tips, but this time I made sure to slap the opposite side of the dumbell on each rep. 40, 20 and 10 were unbroken for doubles. Now I just gotta get faster at those situps. Although I can't imagine cutting 1:40 off my time.... you guys must look like hummingbirds.
6:43 as rx'd (PR) - Was hoping for much better. Sit ups need work...
6:07Sits up came to a grinding halt in the 30 rd. No misses on DU's
9:23 -My first sub 10 min Annie. I'm actually pretty happy with this.
Brent - I saw a video on crossfit or crossfit journal a while ago that had Rip going through the set up. I'll have a look and if I find it I post where I found it.
Impressive times guys,Geoff- 60 incher! Congrats!
5:41, could have been a little quicker on the sit ups
BSO, I'm curious, what do you think is. different about the sit up standard today? I thought this is the standard.
Time: 7:25 (unanchored) *PR*Last PR: 8:20 (anchored 12/10/08)First PR: 20:37 (6/10/06)Double unders are getting much better. With Anchored situps, I think I could have beat 7 minutes. Thanks Gord.
Brent-I found it- on the crossfit main site go under demo's, look under powerlifts, there are a couple good ones, but the one I think is best is the deadlift set by Rip
Rob,I raised my personal standard on the situps. Touched the "toe side" of the dbs every rep rather than the heels of my shoes... this ensured that I came up to perpendicular every rep.
the 60" box... holy hell!!! u must be like a human spring loaded contraption.today's WOD5:40~gm2
Rory...u bet ur ass i would have found 17sec somewhere if u were here...damn residency...~gm2
No rest-day topics? How about this; 'The Holy Roman Empire was neither holy, roman, nor an empire. Duscuss...'
Ha, me good at engrish...
I'm hoping for an early post tonight. i want to sit and stew for a few hours before going to bed...Any guesses what's on tap for tomorrow?
6:05-only 1 miss on double unders-situps anchored but painfully slow after first round.-Cardio was great and doubles smooth but for some reason stomach fatigued easy today..pr is 5:25
